The lawyers at Tavormina & Young have been remarkably successful in applying their personal injury practice experience to commercial cases where lawyers often lack significant trial experience. We are open to different types of fee arrangements that fit clients' needs and are willing to work with clients' in-house lawyers or their designated representatives. Our goal is to position each case for the earliest possible trial date—the key to favorable settlements.
Two of our lawyers helped secure a $250 million jury verdict for Exxon against Lloyd's of London for the Valdez oil spill cleanup costs. Our jury results also include a $2.5 million verdict for breach-of-contract in the sale of machinery and a $1.4 million verdict for a city's wrongful termination of a local contractor. Settlements have included a $2 million minority shareholder settlement and two separate settlements ($1.2 million to $2.7 million) for fraud and breach-of-contract claims related to defective oil field drill pipe.
