The lawyers at Tavormina & Young specialize in the Federal Employer's Liability Act. The Federal Employer's Liability Act is a Federal Law that governs on the job injuries for railroad workers. It is a highly specialized area of the law with a limited amount of practitioners in the field. Steve Young and John Tavormina have tried more FELA cases in Texas for injured rail workers in the last 5 years than any other practicing lawyer in Texas. Together they successfully tried the first locomotive vibration case in the southwest and the first case of repetitive trauma caused by getting on and off moving equipment.

Steve Young has been honored by both the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen and the United Transportation Union to be appointed as Designated Legal Counsel. The designations are important as both unions recognize Steve’s expertise in the field of the Federal Employer’s Liability Act and recommend him to their respective members. Steve is the only lawyer in Texas designated by both the BLET and the UTU.
